Hong Kong Shared Good Values: Making Social Entrepreneurship Go Viral
In the advent of increasing social and environmental awareness in business activities, there has been a strong momentum for social entrepreneurship activities. An increasing number of startups have identified social problems and needs; and many entrepreneurs today have utilized their invaluable skills to solve those problems. In the social enterprise sharing session, we are honored to have the presence of a variety of social entrepreneurs throughout Asia who come from very different backgrounds, but are united by a common goal: turning their society-centric ideas into reality. Our sharing session, together with the Social Enterprise Booths, will consist of interesting perspectives on giving back to society, that even small groups of people can make a huge difference.
Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, OSTJ, JP

Dr. Joseph Lee is Chairman of Wofoo Plastics and Chemicals Group and Wofoo Foundation Limited; he is also the President of Wofoo Social Enterprises. Over the years, he has dedicated his time to building partnerships and cultivating a more harmonious society for a better Hong Kong.
As a seasoned entrepreneur in the fields of social services and manufacturing industries, Dr. Lee believes that it is best to combine social mission with entrepreneurial excellence to address existing social needs of Hong Kong. Through Wofoo Social Enterprises, he has relentlessly sought to innovate and experiment with new initiatives and business models to drive the territory’s education and social welfare development. Through his work, Dr. Lee has inspired many young people to work towards meeting the needs of society in the past decades.
Dr. Lee takes the social affairs of Hong Kong close to his heart. Currently serving as the Chairman of the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, and the Vice-chairperson of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund Task Force, Dr. Lee has demonstrated his vision and leadership in furthering green initiatives, and nurturing social entrepreneurship and innovation in Hong Kong.
Dr. Lee’s great enthusiasm and dedication to the public and community service in the past decades is widely recognized. He has been awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2013. Prior to that, Dr. Lee has been appointed as the Justice of the Peace in 2003, and has been awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star and Silver Bauhinia Star in 2000 and 2008 respectively.
